wow, your ignorance is physically painful to me. Everything fdr did was detrimental to recovery. Dont you find it weird that you cite fdr and spending as the solution yet it started in the early 30's and the depression didnt fully end till the mid 40's? Hoover got most of the new deal programs started and fdr expanded and carried them out all through the depression, then the gov cut spending dramatically and the depression ended. do you really think the spending was good? use logic man c'on

@slickbtk - umm, are you familiar with economics at all? supply and demand are independent of each other, each is dependent on non-correlating factors.. you ask, "why not just give everyone money?"... ever heard of a little something called the stimulus package? now, i don't agree with obama or think the stimulus plan was well-executed, but in theory, giving everyone money is an extremely viable solution. it's what FDR did to get us out of the great depression (along with WWII.. lol)

I agree palin logic is the same insane stupidity as the fools running washington and the fools like others on this forum that support their gov spending policies.

"demand doesnt create supply, supply creates demand. and again if the task of getting the pieces of paper/digits on a computer screen doestn matter than why make the people waste their time diging ditches, why not just giver everyone money?" Super Palin impression of your own, slickbtk. You should send it to SNL.

you dont seem to understand that consumer demand doesnt grow an economy but consumer demand is a positive consequence of a growing economy. your putting the cart before the horse
By: slickbtk. on 08 Feb 10, 13:50:00
your kidding right? you must be lol. demand doesnt create supply, supply creates demand. and again if the task of getting the pieces of paper/digits on a computer screen doestn matter than why make the people waste their time diging ditches, why not just giver everyone money? wouldnt that have the same "positive" effect? I hope your kidding and being sarcastic, but if not WOW that is some ignorant nonsese

Go Sarah Palin. Take take crap from the Obama bandwagon! Go all the way to the top!!! :D
By: BillyBobTS. on 08 Feb 10, 06:21:56
No trust me, I palpably get what your saying. But the point is EMPLOYMENT = more consumer spending = boost to economy. The basic rules of economics anyways. The product itself doesn't matter, whether it be bombs or party balloons, as long as more people are employed at getting paid for it that equals more GDP spending.

LOL, that could have been our vice president
By: slickbtk. on 07 Feb 10, 06:03:18
I am getting your point sir, employment yes, but employment to build things and then blow them up and visa versa cannot be viewed as good simply because the people involved in that are employed. why cant you understand the difference?
By: BillyBobTS. on 07 Feb 10, 05:28:51
You're not getting the point, EMPLOYMENT was the point.
By: slickbtk. on 07 Feb 10, 04:08:40
I just could never comprehend the level of ignorance that is needed to think that borrowing money to give to unemployed people to build bombs (that will be blown up and have no other use) and to go kill and be killed in some other country is a good thing for an economy. I mean why have them build the bombs and kill eachother, why not just give them all the money any way? then would there be a boom?lol the golden age occurred only after gov cut spending and millions of "employed" soldiers returned
By: Schompeit. on 07 Feb 10, 03:43:40
roflmao lol ex-Governer Palin for comedy award or w/e
By: RobertCornhole. on 06 Feb 10, 23:19:11
What an absurd analogy. People weren't manufacturing weapons and vehicles and machinery to bury 'em or dump 'em in the ocean or something, they were used to defeat Nazi Germany. And New Deal programs didn't pay people to do pointless work, they built dams, bridges, and roads... infrastructure investment. You act like I support spending for its own sake.
By: BillyBobTS. on 06 Feb 10, 21:46:49
If I may appropose going by your logic,His conclusion even though I haven't read his comments yet; would be correct. Given we were going into a depressions before ww2. The war itself started up a great industrialization in the homeland and put people back to work, which is the palpable reason why it lead into the golden age of america.
By: slickbtk. on 06 Feb 10, 15:55:18
lol ok
By: BIuejay. on 06 Feb 10, 15:47:51
@slickbtk Moron.
By: slickbtk. on 06 Feb 10, 15:03:48
and again if your faulty understanding of economics was correct than how is it that we are in a recession now? with 2 wars (illegal) going on? and is your solution to start more wars? are you suggesting that if we had a ww3 then our economy would be booming and there would be less economic problems? lol come on man I know thats what they teach you in school but think a little on your own, it feels good trust me.
By: slickbtk. on 06 Feb 10, 15:01:28
again you put the cart before the horse,it is not demand that created supply it is supply that creates demand.Let me see if I get this str8, if we have two unemployed people we should make them both build a tank and then both blow up eachothers tank?and that is good economics? I suppose you would think that if we took 1/2 the unemployed today and borrowed money to pay them to dig a ditch and then took the other 1/2 of the unemployed and borrowed to pay them to bury the ditch all would be well?
