i can't speak for bob but in my opinion he's just sticking to what he said in an interview once upon a time about how the only commercial he'd do is for ladies' undergarments. it's probably a subtle and comical "fuck you" to everybody who holds him in such high regard. and did he really criticize singers who want to be actors? because he's always had a fascination with theater and has done a bit of acting in his career...
